Altadena California REBUILD UNIT

 

   The Altadena, CA rebuilding unit was started June 1, 2026. The need here is from a
wildfire disaster. The Eaton fire was a highly destructive wildfire in Los Angeles County,
California. The fire began January 7, 2025 in the Eaton Canyon in the San Gabriel
Mountains. Powerful Santa Ana winds drove the fire into the foothill communities of
Pasadena, and particularly Altadena. The fire raged for 25 days, burning approximately
9000 homes & businesses, covering 14000 acres, and killing 19 people.
   We are rebuilding fire damaged and destroyed homes under the direction of HCRN,
Hope Crises Response Network, who are familiar with our CPS program having worked
with our units at Paradise and Happy Camp. HCRN’s goal is to build 100 homes in a 5-year
program. They are seeking out those who have no insurance, the elderly, and needy to work
and build for. There are plenty of donated funds for the projects but a shortage of laborers
to do the work. This is where our unit boys are filling the need.
